The country’s largest private fuel retailer Nayara Energy has reduced the price of petrol by Rs 5 per liter and diesel by Rs 3 per liter. Now the price of petrol in Bhopal has come to Rs 119.79 and diesel to Rs 102.57.
Relief due to cheaper crude oil in the global market
The price of crude oil in the international market has come down to $73 per barrel. Due to the US-Iran war, it had crossed 100 dollars. Prices have come down due to reduced tension.
New rates applicable on more than 7 thousand petrol pumps
Naira Energy has more than 7 thousand petrol pumps across the country. The new rates have been implemented across the company. However, due to different rates of local tax and value-added tax in different states, there may be a slight difference in the retail price in every city.
Government companies did not reduce prices
On one hand, private company Nayara Energy has reduced the prices. Whereas government oil companies Indian Oil Corporation (IOC), Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL) and Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL) have not made any change in the prices.
Government companies had increased in May
After increasing the prices of private companies, government oil companies also increased the prices. In May, IOC, BPCL and HPCL had increased the prices of both petrol and diesel in installments by a total of ₹7.50-₹7.50 per liter citing expensive international crude. These three government companies control more than 90% of the more than 1 lakh petrol pumps in the country.
