The All Indian Football Federation agreed to a hand Mohun Bagan SG and Kerala Blasters FC a three-day extension on the payment of their first instalment of their ISL 2025-26 participation fee.
The participating clubs were due to pay Rs 30 Lakh by March 5, another instalment of Rs 30 Lakhs between March 28 and April 4 and a final payment of Rs 2 Lakhs by the 1st of May.
The AIFF has reiterated that failure to remit the entire amount, including the fine of Rs 1 lakh per day, may lead to the “disqualification of the club from participation”.
In its earlier communication on the matter, the AIFF had stated that if payments are not made for seven days, it will issue a notice of disqualification to the clubs. If no payments are made in the four days that follow, the clubs will be disqualified from the next season of the ISL.
“A fine of Rs 1 lakh per day shall be levied for each day of delay from the due date until actual payment. Upon the expiry of seven days of continued non-payment, AIFF shall issue a notice of disqualification to the club. If the default is not remedied within four days from the date of such notice, the club shall be deemed disqualified from participation in the next season of the ISL, without any further communication,” said the communication by the AIFF to the 14 ISL clubs.
