Mohammed Siraj in tears, England players console pacer after Lord’s win (Watch)

Mohammed Siraj was left distraught and broke down in tears as he was the last man to be dismissed as England won the Lord’s Test. Siraj put up his best by defending and supporting Ravindra Jadeja from one end, but unfortunately saw the ball roll onto his stumps at the end.

India were left reeling at 112 for eight when they lost Nitish Kumar Reddy just before lunch as the match seemed like done and dusted. But Jadeja battled hard and remained unbeaten on 61 as he worked with the tail-enders Jasprit Bumrah and Siraj.

With Bumrah, the all-rounder put on a 35-run stand as the match extended to the final session despite the second one being extended following the wicket of the Indian pacer at 147. From there, Siraj showed sturdy defence and ensured India still had some hope with 30 needed in the final session.

This is when Shoaib Bashir came on to bowl and Siraj saw off one delivery in the 75th over but the next one ricocheted off the bat and slowly trickled on to the stumps.

Soon enough, Harry Brook, Joe Root and Ben Stokes came in to console Siraj, giving flashback of the 2005 Edgbaston Test.
