Premier League giants Manchester United are reportedly looking to swoop in for Randal Kolo Muani next year. The Red Devils have struggled with consistency this season leading to their coach Erik ten Hag getting the sack in October. The Dutchman was replaced by Sporting Lisbon manager Ruben Amorim who is already looking to reinforce the club’s senior squad.

As per a L’Equipe report via Fussball.News, Manchester United are considering a transfer for the young Paris Saint-Germain forward. Due to financial constraints, the Old Trafford-based side could also end up agreeing to a loan deal for the French international, as they face competition from league rivals Arsenal who are also looking to sign the Frenchman.

With Amorim’s arrival, Manchester United are eager to add more firepower to their attack. Given Rasmus Hojlund and Joshua Zirkee’s slow start in the ongoing season, the club officials will look to close out a deal early. They feel that Hojlund and Zirkee need more time to develop at the club. Meanwhile, Kolo Muani could serve as a short-term solution for the English side.

According to the same L’Equipe report, PSG are keen on letting Muani leave in the winter transfer window. They are even considering to let him go out on a loan deal. The Ligue 1 champions are reportedly desperate to make room in their current squad. Moreover, the 25-year-old forward is also not in Luis Enrique’s plans for the season.

Kolo Muani has not had the best time in Paris since his €95 million move to PSG from Bundesliga side Eintracht Frankfurt. The French striker has mostly found himself on the bench under Enrique.

The 25-year-old was recently featured in an interview on the TV show Telefoot where he was asked about the possibility of a move away from the French capital. As per Sport Bild, his response was – “No, I’ve never thought about it.” The young striker further said, “You have to keep the mentality. It’s up to me to keep working so that the coach trusts me. That’s part of my story. I’ve always had to work hard, things have never been easy for me. You can’t let up. If you let up, it’s over, then you’ll go under.”

While there are plenty of links between Kolo Muani and Manchester United, the Red Devils will likely face several challenges in bringing the striker to Old Trafford. With Gabriel Jesus falling out of favour with Mikel Arteta, Arsenal will also be looking to close out a deal. Apart from the stiff competition, Muani has also ruled out a move as he wants to fight for his place at PSG.
