Lego launches football themed sets ahead of FIFA World Cup 2026, featuring Messi, Ronaldo, Mbappe and Vinicius Jr as detailed minifigures and display models.

Lionel Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo, Kylian Mbappe and Vinicius Junior are LEGO now as Danish Toy giant launched a special football-themed collection ahead of the FIFA World Cup 2026.
LEGO posted on their social channels with a disclaimer that ‘it is not AI’.

The range includes multiple sets designed to celebrate the players’ careers, signature styles and defining moments. From smaller “Football Highlights” builds to larger “Football Legend” display models, fans will be able to recreate iconic scenes and discover hidden easter eggs that reflect each player’s journey. The sets are built on unique letter-shaped bases inspired by the players’ initials, combined with national team colours, jersey numbers and collectible plaques.
Ronaldo’s set, for example, features an ‘R’-shaped base in Portugal’s colours, while Mbappe’s version is built on an ‘M’-shaped platform reflecting France’s identity. Messi’s set mirrors Argentina’s colours, and Vinicius Junior’s design captures Brazilian flair with a ‘V’-shaped base and a celebratory pose.
Speaking about the collaboration, Ronaldo expressed his excitement, saying: “It’s not every day you get to be transformed into a LEGO set!”
Mbappe also shared his thoughts on the project, highlighting the deeper connection between sport and creativity. “Football has taught me to dream big and to constantly push my limits. This LEGO set tells part of my story, but above all, it captures the energy and creativity that make this sport so special.”
Messi echoed a similar sentiment about the partnership. “Similar to football, LEGO play is all about building and rebuilding, trying new things, learning from mistakes and celebrating successes,” he said. “I love how these LEGO sets bring my pitch moments to life in a fun and imaginative way.”
Vinicius Junior emphasised inclusivity, adding: “It doesn’t matter where you’re from or what language you speak, people connect through creativity and that’s really powerful,” he said. “I didn’t have much growing up, but I used to play with LEGO at school, for example. Like a lot of kids, I loved building things, creating my own world, using my imagination. That’s something that stays with you, even as you get older.”
