LeT Commander Shabbir Ahmed Lone Arrested Near Bangladesh Border

Delhi Police Special Cell has arrested Shabbir Ahmed Lone, a commander of Lashkar-e-Taiba, from near the Bangladesh border, sources said.

Lone was operating a Lashkar module from his hideout near Dhaka. The arrest followed a two-month-long operation closely monitored by Police Commissioner Satish Golcha.

The suspects have been identified across two modules. In the West Bengal module based in Kolkata, Umar Faruk (31), a resident of Malda, was the main coordinator who led operations in India and recruited Bangladeshi nationals. Robiul Islam (31), a Bangladeshi national from Thakurgaon district, assisted in putting up terror posters in Delhi and Kolkata.

In the Tamil Nadu module based in Tiruppur, those identified include Mohammed Sefayat Hossain (34), a Bangladeshi national from Jhalakathi district, along with Mizanur Rehman (32), Zahidul Islam (40), Mohd. Liton (40), Mohd. Uzzal (27), and Umar (32). All of them are Bangladeshi nationals from Bogura district.
