Navdeep Saini has taken 23 wickets so far in IPL.
Before IPL 2026, Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) has included fast bowler Navdeep Saini in the team. He will play in place of injured Harshit Rana. Harshit was injured in the practice match of T-20 World Cup against South Africa.
Indian fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah has reached BCCI’s Center of Excellence in Bengaluru for workload management. Here he is working on strength and conditioning. Kolkata will play its first match against Mumbai on May 29 at Wankhede.
Rana out of IPL
Harshit Rana is completely out of IPL 2026. Earlier, Rana could not even play the T20 World Cup due to injury. The team management chose Saini after discussing the options. Earlier, KKR has also included Saurabh Dubey in the team in place of Akash Deep.
Harshit Rana has taken 40 wickets in 34 matches of IPL.
Saini played his first season in 2019
Navdeep Saini started his IPL career with RCB in 2019. In the first season, he took 11 wickets in 13 matches. After this he stayed with RCB for two seasons and then joined Rajasthan Royals. Saini has taken 23 wickets in IPL so far and has played all three formats for India.
Kulwant Khejroliya joins GT
Gujarat Titans have also made changes in the team. GT has included Kulwant Khejroliya in place of Prithviraj Yara. Khejroliya made his IPL debut with RCB and later played for KKR and GT as well. Gujarat Titans will begin their campaign against Punjab Kings on March 31 in Mullanpur.
Bumrah is working on strength and conditioning
