The monsoon session of Jharkhand Assembly will begin on July 26 and the session is expected to be stormy as the BJP will grill the ruling alliance led by JMM on the issue of infiltration from Bangladesh in Santhal Pargana region and law and order in the state.
Likewise, the JMM and Congress will counter the BJP’s charge and raise the issue of a dip in the tribals’ population in several parts of the state, including Ranchi, Bokaro, Dhanbad and other cities, during the session that will go on till August 2.
Jharkhand in-charge and Union Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan and Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma have criticised the JMM-led government on infiltration in Santhal Pargana.
They have questioned how the population of tribals went down to 26 per cent in 2011 from 44 per cent in 1951.
The JMM-led alliance, on the other hand, has blamed Union Home Minister Amit Shah for the influx of infiltrators from Bangladesh.
On Thursday, the JMM reacted to Sarma’s ’40 per cent Muslim population in Assam’ charge and accused the Chief Minister of misleading people in the name of religion.
“When people do not have any work to show, they mislead the common people in the name of religion. This is their condition. After winning the election, the tribal Chief Minister (Sarbananda Sonowal) was humiliated and removed from the post and he himself sat on the chair against the mandate of the people,” JMM tweeted in Hindi.
