Iran War LIVE: US Secretary of State Marco Rubio said that the US can achieve its goals in Iran without sending troops to the war zone. The statement comes days after reports suggested that the US is planning to deploy some 3,000 soldiers from the elite 82nd Airborne Division to the Middle East to join operations against Iran.
“We are achieving all of those objectives; we are ahead of schedule on most of them, and we can achieve them without any ground troops,” Rubio told reporters following the G7 Foreign Ministers meeting in Vaux-de-Cernay, near Paris.
Despite Tehran’s denials, Trump repeated his claim that talks were underway to negotiate an end to the month-long conflict.
Meanwhile, Iranian Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi warned Israel for targeting country’s nuclear facilities and steel plants on Friday. Iran will exact a “heavy price” for Israeli crimes, Araghchi said on X.
