IndiGo has planned 10 special relief flights from Jeddah to India on Tuesday to help stranded passengers return home, subject to necessary approvals and prevailing airspace conditions.

The airline said it is coordinating with the Consulate General of India in Jeddah to facilitate passengers for the planned operations.

The special flights come after large-scale disruptions to air travel across West Asia following escalating tensions between Iran and Israel. Several Gulf countries temporarily closed their airspace or restricted flights, leaving thousands of travellers, including many Indians, stranded in the region.

Airlines have since been working with governments and diplomatic missions to arrange evacuation and relief flights as airspace gradually reopens.

Civil Aviation Ministry Monitoring Situation

The Ministry of Civil Aviation said it is closely tracking developments in the Middle East and their impact on international air travel.

“Airlines are deploying additional capacity where required and coordinating closely with foreign aviation authorities and Indian missions abroad to ensure safe and orderly passenger movement. IndiGo has planned 10 special relief operations from Jeddah to India on 3 March, 2026, to facilitate the return of stranded passengers, subject to required approvals and prevailing airspace conditions. IndiGo is coordinating with the Consulate General of India at Jeddah for passenger facilitation,” said the official statement.

“All airlines have been advised to maintain transparent communication with passengers and ensure adherence to regulatory requirements concerning refunds, rescheduling, and passenger assistance. Passengers are advised to check the latest flight status directly with their respective airlines before proceeding to the airport and to rely only on official sources for updates,” it added.
