Yusha Nafees reigned supreme in the U19 mens’ category at the Indoor Junior Open Squash Championships in Jaipur on Saturday, while Rudra Singh triumphed in the girls’ event.
Nafees rallied to get the better of Rachit Shah in a five-game thriller to secure the top prize at the Rajasthan Squash Academy, adding further sheen to a year in which she clinched bronze as part of the Indian unit at the Asian Junior Team Championships.
In the girls’ U-19 final, Rudra got the better of Vyomika Khandelwal in straight games with a score of (5/8) 11-7, 13-11, 11-2.
The week-long tournament, which drew 520 entries across 12 events, concluded with finals in all age categories.
