Seema clocked a season-best time of 15:35.86, which was also her second quickest time ever in the event.
The Indian badminton team, which won bronze at the ongoing Games in Rhine-Ruhr, Germany, encountered controversy when it was revealed that six of the twelve selected players were barred from participating due to Indian officials’ failure to correctly submit all names during the managers’ meeting on July 16.
Female quarter-miler Devyani Bazala claimed she could not compete as her name went missing due to a late alteration by officials in submitting the confirmation list. The sprinter was unable to participate in the 400m race after her name disappeared from the start list upon her arrival at the venue, despite being initially included.
