PM Modi and Biden talked about India-US cooperation, Ukraine, and the security of Bangladesh’s Hindu minorities.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday spoke with US President Joe Biden appreciating the latter’s commitment to India-US partnership. Both leaders also discussed the situation in Ukraine over a phone call and discussed other regional and international issues of importance.

PM Modi recently returned from a trip to Kyiv where he met Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.
“Spoke to @POTUS @JoeBiden on the phone today. We had a detailed exchange of views on various regional and global issues, including the situation in Ukraine. I reiterated India’s full support for early return of peace and stability,” PM Modi said.
PM Modi said that the leaders also discussed the situation in Bangladesh and the safety and security of the nation’s Bengali Hindu minorities.
“We also discussed the situation in Bangladesh and stressed on the need for early restoration of normalcy, and ensuring the safety and security of minorities, especially Hindus, in Bangladesh,” he said.
Both leaders also committed to further strengthening of the Quad framework. “The leaders highlighted that India-US partnership is aimed at benefiting the people of both countries as well as the entire humanity,” a press release said.
“While discussing the situation in Ukraine, PM Modi briefed President Biden on his recent visit to Ukraine. He reiterated India’s consistent position in favour of dialogue and diplomacy and expressed full support for early return of peace and stability”.
“The two leaders expressed their shared concern over the situation in Bangladesh. They emphasised restoration of law and order and ensuring safety and security of the minorities, particularly Hindus, in Bangladesh,” the press release further added.
