Ferrero joined hands with Alcaraz when the Spaniard was just 15 years of age and helped the Spaniard secure 24 career titles, including six Grand Slams.
Ferrero had penned an emotional farewell note following the split, revealing his desire to have continued had things gone another way and claimed that the differences might have been sorted out had the parties got to sit down and talk it out.
“It’s true that when a year ends, certain contract-related matters need to be reviewed. and as with any new contract, looking ahead to the following year, there were certain things we did not agree on,” he said.
“The decision is not made by Alcaraz. From Carlos’ environment, they think of the best for him and me in the best for me,” the former French Open winner said.
“There have been certain issues on which both parties have not agreed.”
“It may be that it could have been saved if we had sat down to talk, but in the end we have not sat down and we have decided not to continue. This is really what has happened,” he said.
