The Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER) is set to commence the application process for the IISER Aptitude Test (IAT) 2026 today, March 5. Eligible and interested candidates can apply via the official website at iiseradmission.in, until April 13.

The IAT serves as the admission gateway for the five-year dual degree programme for science students and the four-year BS degree programme for engineering sciences and economic sciences, exclusively offered at IISER Bhopal.

According to the official notice, the application correction window will be available from April 16 to 18. Hall tickets will be released on May 24, and the exam will take place on June 7. The answer key is expected to be released on the same date.

IISER IAT 2026: Who Can Apply?

Candidates who have completed Class 12 or an equivalent exam in the science stream with at least 60 per cent marks (for general candidates) are eligible to apply for the IAT. For candidates from Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST), and Persons With Disabilities (PwD) categories, the minimum required score is 55 per cent.

IISER IAT 2026: How To Apply?

Step 1. Registration — Candidates must first register on the official website at iiseradmission.in to receive a user ID and password.

Step 2. Login — Use the received User ID and Password to log in and complete the application form.

Step 3. Details — Fill in personal details such as Name, Nationality, Category, Mobile Number, Email Address, and Test City Preferences. These details cannot be changed once the application is submitted.

Step 4. Submit — After filling out the application, submit the form and make the payment.

The tentative total number of seats available for the BS-MS/BS programme is 1933. Seats are available under the BS-MS programme at IISER Berhampur, IISER Bhopal, IISER Kolkata, IISER Mohali, IISER Pune, IISER Tirupati, IISER Thiruvananthapuram, and under the BS programme at IISER Bhopal (Engineering Sciences) and IISER Bhopal (Economic Sciences).
