The image of an alleged Indian Air Force (IAF) dinner menu circulating on social media, featuring dishes named after Pakistani airbases, cannot be independently verified, top defence sources told CNN-News18 on Thursday.

They added that the source of the image could not be established and that it appeared to have proliferated online to attract attention.

The purported menu, titled “93 Years of IAF: Infallible, Impervious and Precise,” went viral after BJP national spokesperson Shehzad Poonawalla shared it on X.

The image showed several food items named after Pakistani airbases targeted during India’s Operation Sindoor earlier this year and Operation Bandar (the 2019 Balakot airstrike).

Among the Listed Dish Were “Rawalpindi Chicken Tikka Masala,” “Rafiqui Rhara Mutton,” “Bholary Paneer Methi Malai,” “Sukkur Sham Savera Kofta,” and “Sargodha Dal Makhani.” Desserts Included “Balakot Tiramisu,” “Muzafarabad Kulfi Faluda,” and “Muridke Meetha Pan.”

Sharing the image, Poonawalla wrote: “From serving dishes to serving justice. Now even the menu of the IAF conveys a new normal.”

The post quickly gained traction, with many users lauding the creativity behind the alleged menu.

However, official sources clarified that the authenticity of the image remains unverified, and there is no confirmation from the IAF regarding any such menu.

The viral post also referenced Operation Sindoor, India’s May 2025 cross-border strikes on terror infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK), and Operation Bandar, the 2019 Balakot airstrike carried out in response to the Pulwama terror attack.

At this point, officials have emphasised caution in sharing unverified content on social media.
