Haas Factory Team confirmed on Friday that it will part ways with Ford at the end of the 2025 season and move to Chevrolet power starting in 2026.
The decision will bring an end to a near decade-long relationship in which Ford supplied both engines and bodies for Haas entries in the NASCAR Cup Series and Xfinity Series.
“First and foremost, we want to thank Ford for its partnership,” said team president Joe Custer. “Their support allowed us to establish Haas Factory Team, and we remain dedicated to delivering results for them in Cup and Xfinity all the way through the season finale in Phoenix.”
Technical Alliance with Hendrick Motorsports
The switch comes with a major technical boost: a new alliance with Hendrick Motorsports. Chevrolet engines built by Hendrick will power Haas’ cars in both the Cup and Xfinity Series, beginning with the 2026 season.
For team owner Gene Haas, the move represents a return to familiar ground. His original Haas CNC Racing outfit competed with Chevrolet from its NASCAR debut in 2002 until switching to Ford in 2017.
“Personally, I have a deep history with Chevrolet and Hendrick Motorsports,” Haas said.
“Both helped in establishing not only my presence as a team owner in NASCAR, but also the presence of Haas Automation. Together, we were able to build a race team that competed for wins and championships while growing the use of Haas CNC machinery throughout the racing and manufacturing industries.”
Looking Ahead
The new Haas-Chevrolet era will debut at the Cook Out Clash at Bowman Gray Stadium in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, on February 1, 2026.
The team also confirmed that its roster will remain unchanged. Cole Custer will continue to drive the No. 41 in the Cup Series, while Sheldon Creed and Sam Mayer will compete in the Xfinity Series, which will be rebranded as the O’Reilly Auto Parts Series starting in 2026.
