The State Examination Board (SEB) of Gujarat has begun the application process for the Gujarat National Means-cum-Merit Scholarship (NMMS) 2025. Interested and eligible students can apply for the scholarship by visiting the official website, sebexam.org. The last date to register is January 11, 2025. Candidates can pay the application fees until January 13, 2025.
National Means-Cum-Merit Scholarship Scheme (NMMS) is a scheme by the union government under which 1 lakh scholarships are awarded to selected students every year from Class 9. The government also continues this scholarship in Classes 10 to 12 if students meet the prescribed eligibility criteria.
During the application process, candidates who belong to the scheduled caste (SC), scheduled tribe (ST), or other backward class (OBC) categories must present authentic caste certificates that have been granted by appropriate authorities. These certificates facilitate eligibility verification by acting as definitive proof of the candidate’s category.
Students who clear the NMMS exam will be awarded a scholarship of Rs 12,000 per annum. Students who wish to appear in the National Means-Cum-Merit Scholarship exam must be enrolled in a state government, government-aided, or local body school. In addition to that, the students must have a household income of less than Rs 3,50,000 to be eligible for the scholarship.
