24-time Grand Slam champion Novak Djokovic was on Saturday, March 7, seen throwing up just outside the court during his Indian Wells second round encounter against Poland’s Kamil Majchrzak. The incident occurred after a gruelling 43-shot rally between the Serb and the Pole in the decisive third set.
Djokovic, a five-time Indian Wells Masters champion, made a slow start against Majchrzak, looking rusty as he dropped the opening set 4-6. But the Serb soon found his rhythm, cruising through the next two sets 6-1, 6-2 to seal his place in the third round.
Early in the third set, Djokovic and Majchrzak thrilled the Indian Wells Masters crowd with a gruelling 43-shot rally. The demanding exchange appeared to take its toll on the Serb, who left the court to vomit before returning to continue the match. Watch the video here:

After his three-set victory over Majchrzak at the Indian Wells Masters, Djokovic said that the win served as a welcome icebreaker, after his struggles at the tournament in recent years and with age becoming a factor.
“The last 7-8 years, I was not able to really find my best game. So, it is great to break the ice in a way. It takes a lot to win a match here at Indian Wells at this stage of my life,” Djokovic said.
“I had not played a match in five weeks, since the finals at the Australian Open. Most of the other guys have had several tournaments this year. So, I knew that the first match was always going to be a little bit rusty for me, but after I dropped the first set, I kept believing that I could come back and I found my A-game from the beginning of the second and never looked back,” Djokovic added.
