11.6 lakh liters of diesel in one go, expenditure up to ₹ 13.61 crore

The huge size of the dragonfly can be estimated from its fuel requirement. If it is fully refilled with a capacity of 11.6 lakh litres, the bill goes up from ₹13.04 crore to ₹13.61 crore. Refueling from the pipeline takes approximately 12.5 hours.

This is why industrial scale fueling hubs like Gibraltar are used, where large diesel storage tanks of 3,200 metric tons and 13,350 metric tons capacities are available.
