The 8th Pay Commission may have to wait till 2028 to be fully implemented. It was approved by the Union Cabinet in January, but so far neither official notifications have come, neither the terms of references were final, nor the commission’s list has been released. However, it will be applicable from 1 January 2026 i.e. employees will get two years arrears.
More than 50 lakh employees and about 65 lakh pensioners of the Central Government will get the benefit of the implementation of the new Pay Commission. The basic salary of Central Employees of Level-1 can increase from ₹ 18 thousand to ₹ 44 thousand. The Commission may apply 2.46 fitment factor.

4. Adani Group will sell property in Maharashtra and Lucknow Sahara: Supreme Court sought permission, the group has to return ₹ 24,030 crore of investors.
Sahara India Commercial Corporation Limited (SICCL) has sought permission from the Supreme Court to sell 88 property to Adani Group including Ambi Valley in Maharashtra and Sahara city of Lucknow. The company’s demand may be heard on October 14.
Sahara Group on 6 September signed an agreement to sell 88 properties with Adani Property, which needs approval from the court. SICCL said that this deal will not only withdraw a good price from their properties, but will also help in paying the dues according to the court orders.
