1. Today gold fell by ₹ 4245, silver by ₹ 12 thousand: Gold became cheaper by ₹ 12 thousand in 34 days due to Iran war, silver fell by ₹ 39 thousand

Gold and silver prices are also falling on Thursday amid the ongoing war between America and Israel with Iran. According to India Bullion and Jewelers Association (IBJA), on Thursday, 10 grams of 24 carat gold fell by Rs 4,245 to Rs 1.47 lakh. Earlier on Wednesday it was at 1.51 lakh.
At the same time, one kg silver decreased by Rs 12,023 to Rs 2.28 lakh, which was Rs 2.40 lakh on March 25. Due to America-Iran war, gold has become cheaper by Rs 12,489 and silver by Rs 38,887 in 34 days.

2. Online payment will be possible without OTP: Banks-telecom companies will bring ‘silent authentication’; Transaction will stop if SIM-device does not match

Big private banks and telecom companies of the country are working on ‘silent authentication’ technology. This will eliminate the need for one-time password (OTP) while making online payments. This system will check in the background whether the number registered in the bank app and the SIM card of the phone matches or not.
If the SIM and number do not match, the transaction will be blocked immediately. The special thing is that the user will not need to do anything in this. This technology will also work on e-SIM. This will stop frauds like SIM cloning and e-SIM swap. This information was given by Sameer Shetty, Digital Business Head of Axis Bank.

3. Import duty abolished on petrochemical products: Government’s decision amid US-Israel and Iran war; Plastic, textile and auto sectors benefit

The Central Government has completely waived the basic customs duty on 40 critical petrochemical products. This relaxation will be applicable till June 30, 2026.
This step has been taken in view of the ongoing tension between America-Israel and Iran war and disruptions in the global supply chain.
Its objective is to ensure continuous supply of raw materials to the domestic manufacturing sector and to reduce rising costs. This will put a burden of Rs 1,800 crore on the government exchequer.

4. Now the rules of ‘SIM binding’ will be applicable from January 1: Government extended the deadline, WhatsApp will not work without SIM card.

The Central Government has extended the deadline for implementing the rules of ‘SIM binding’ to 31 December 2026. That means the new rules will now come into effect from January 1, 2027. Keeping in view the demand of the industry, the government has taken this step.
Under the new rules, messaging apps like WhatsApp, Telegram, Signal will not work if there is no SIM card in the mobile. Login WhatsApp on computer will also be logged out in 6 hours. The government claims that this will help in stopping cyber fraud.
