Fire Breaks Out After Debris From Iran Missile Interception Hits Dubai Home, 4 Injured

Debris from an intercepted Iranian drone caused a fire at an abandoned house in Dubai’s Al Badaa, leaving four people nearly suffering minor injuries.

At least four people were injured after a fire broke out at an abandoned house in Dubai’s Al Badaa area after debris from an air defence interception fell on the site in the wee hours of Tuesday.

According to the Dubai Media Office, the authorities responded to the incident caused after an Iranian drone was intercepted and fell on the site. The four injured individuals were reported to be in the vicinity of the house at the time of the incident.

“Authorities in Dubai responded to a fire in an abandoned house in Al Badaa caused by debris following an air defence interception. Four minor injuries were reported among individuals in the vicinity of the house,” the Media Office said in a post on X.

The incident came amid heightened air defence activity in the region. The UAE Ministry of Defence said its systems had intercepted incoming missiles and drones, with loud explosions heard across several areas attributed to mid-air interceptions.

Earlier on Monday, authorities in Sharjah reported a drone strike on an administrative building of Thuraya Telecommunications Company in the emirate’s Central Region. The drone was reportedly launched from Iran.

Officials have urged residents to remain cautious and follow safety instructions as security forces continue to respond to aerial threats.

Iran has been carrying out attacks on US bases and interests across the Middle East since the conflict with the United States and Israel began on February 28. The war started after US and Israeli strikes on Iran that killed the country’s Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, and caused major damage to key government and military infrastructure.

Since then, Iran has launched repeated retaliatory strikes across the region. These attacks have mainly targeted US diplomatic missions, military bases and other locations linked to American interests.

Gulf countries have reported more than 2,000 missile and drone attacks during the conflict. The strikes have hit a wide range of sites, including oil facilities, ports, airports, hotels, and residential and commercial buildings, raising concerns about security and stability across the region.
