knowledge part

  • What is NBS: The full name of NBS is Nutrient Based Subsidy. This scheme is in force since 2010. The government gives money to companies according to the amount of nitrogen, phosphorus, potash and sulfur present in the bag of fertilizer. Due to this, even if the price of raw material increases in the international market, the price of the bag received by the farmers does not increase.
  • Why hydropower is important: Hydroelectricity is not just a means of generating electricity, but it is very important for energy security. It does not emit smoke like coal. The water from the dams built for these projects is later used for irrigation and drinking purposes.
