Multiple massive explosions were heard near a police training centre in Pakistan’s Dera Ismail Khan district in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, according to initial reports. Sources told CNN-News18 that the police training centre has come under attack and an exchange of gunfire between security forces and unidentified assailants is ongoing.
Local residents reported hearing several loud blasts followed by sustained firing from the vicinity of the compound. Security forces have cordoned off the area and emergency response teams have been rushed to the site.
