Several people were killed after a military explosives facility in Tennessee blew up on Friday morning, officials said.

CNN quoted Humphreys County Sheriff Chris Davis as saying that the explosion, which happened, was a “devastating blast” but responders were able to secure the scene by late morning.

“We do have several people at this time that’s unaccounted for. We do have some folks, we can confirm that we do have some that are deceased,” he said.

Three people who received “minor injuries” from the explosion were treated at TriStar medical facilities in Dickson, Casey Stapp, spokesperson for TriStar Health said. He further said that two have been released and one is still under treatment.

Associated Press quoted Gentry Stover, one of the residents, as saying: “I thought the house had collapsed with me inside of it. I live very close to Accurate and I realized about 30 seconds after I woke up that it had to have been that.”
