United States Presidential Inauguration LIVE: Donald Trump was sworn in for a historic second term as president on Monday. He announced a series of measures including invoking national emergency at southern border and renaming Gulf of Mexico to Gulf of America.
With one hand raised and the other on a Bible given to him by his mother, the 47th US president solemnly took the oath of office beneath the vast Rotunda of the US Capitol.
Trump won a historic election in November last year, defeating his Democratic rival Kamala Harris, in what was expected to be a close contest, by a comfortable margin. His return as the US President is a significant moment in American history as he will become the only second president to come back to power non-consecutively.
