President Donald Trump has said he “didn’t want” London Mayor Sadiq Khan at the state banquet hosted by the King at Windsor Castle. Trump described Sadiq Khan as “among the worst mayors in the world”, saying he had wanted to attend the event, but “I asked that he not be there”. The pair’s long-running row dates back to 2015 when Khan condemned Trump’s suggestion that Muslims should be banned from travelling to the US. A year later, Trump challenged the mayor to an IQ test. Trump also attacked the mayor’s handling of the London Bridge terror attack in 2017.
