Delhi Red Fort Blast Live Updates: 8 Killed; JeM Link Suspected, One Person Detained In Kashmir

Delhi Red Fort Blast News Live Updates: At least eight people were killed and several others injured on Monday evening after a Hyundai i20 car exploded near Gate No. 1 of the Red Fort Metro Station in Delhi. Authorities are treating the blast, which occurred around 6:55 pm, as a suspected terror-related incident.

Car traced to Pulwama man: Investigators have traced the car to a man from Pulwama district in Jammu and Kashmir, uncovering a potential terror link. According to CNN News18 sources, the car was originally registered in Gurugram under the number HR26 and first owned by Mohammad Salman. It reportedly changed hands four times – Salman to Devendra, Devendra to Sonu, and finally Sonu to Tariq from Shambhura village in Pulwama.

Delhi Police have alerted Jammu and Kashmir authorities, with a special team dispatched to Srinagar to verify details about Tariq and his associates. The car’s ownership transfers were allegedly done illegally through a Faridabad-based car dealer.

IED used in the blast: Preliminary investigations suggest that an improvised explosive device (IED) was used in the explosion, which tore through the car as it moved slowly near the Red Fort. More than 50 CCTV footage from Kashmiri Gate, Dariyaganj, Sunehri Masjid, and Red Fort areas have been collected to track the vehicle’s route, which was reportedly seen roaming in North Delhi since early afternoon.

Authorities are now probing whether the blast was part of a larger terror plot targeting the capital.
