A Delhi–Bagdogra flight with 238 passengers made an emergency landing in Lucknow after a bomb threat was found on a tissue paper. The plane is being searched.

IndiGo Airlines flight 6E-6650 travelling from Delhi to Bagdogra, carrying 238 passengers received a bomb threat on Sunday, forcing an emergency landing in Lucknow, police said.
According to ACP Rajneesh Verma, a message claiming that there was a bomb on board was found written on a tissue paper in the aircraft’s toilet. He said the flight was en route from Delhi to Bagdogra when the threat was discovered.

The aircraft landed safely in Lucknow. It was carrying 230 passengers, including 222 adults and 8 infants, 2 pilots, and 5 crew members. ACP Verma said the plane is currently being searched.
After landing at Lucknow airport, the aircraft was immediately parked in the isolation bay and secured by security personnel. Bomb disposal squad and CISF teams began a detailed investigation. All passengers were evacuated and screened, and a comprehensive search is currently underway at the airport.

Authorities received information at around 8:46 am on January 18, 2026, that a message from air traffic control reported a bomb threat on IndiGo flight 6E-6650 operating from Delhi to Bagdogra. The aircraft landed safely at about 9:17 am.
