Cyclone Dana LIVE: Odisha, Bengal Brace For Impact As Storm To Make Landfall Today – News18

Cyclone Dana LIVE Updates: As the deep depression over the Bay of Bengal intensified into a cyclonic storm on Wednesday, the India Meteorological Department predicted that it is likely to intensify into a severe cyclonic storm on Thursday. In view of the cyclone, West Bengal and Odisha governments are gearing up to tackle the adverse situations.

Meanwhile, Kolkata and Bhubaneshwar airport authorities have decided to suspend flight operations for 15 hours from 6 pm on Thursday owing to the cyclone. In addition to this, over 190 local trains running through the South Eastern Railway jurisdiction have been cancelled.

With Cyclone Dana forecasted to make landfall on October 24 and 25 along the coasts of West Bengal and Odisha, the Indian Coast Guard is on “high alert” and has mobilised its vessels and aircraft, positioning them strategically to respond swiftly to any emergency situation at sea.
