Char Dham Yatra is going to start from Akshaya Tritiya. On the auspicious occasion of Akshaya Tritiya i.e. 19th April tomorrow, the doors of Gangotri and Yamunotri Dham will be opened for the devotees. There is an atmosphere of excitement in the entire area regarding this and preparations are going on in full swing. Like every year, this time too devotees from India and abroad will come here. After Gangotri and Yamunotri, the doors of Kedarnath and Badrinath will also be opened for the devotees.
Grand preparations for opening of doors of Gangotri
Before the doors open, the temple premises are being decorated with colors. The temple will be decorated with about one and a half quintal flowers. This time natural beauty is also at its peak. Due to recent snowfall, the hills around Gangotri have been covered with snow, which will become a center of attraction for pilgrims. Devotees coming from India and abroad will get the spiritual benefit of seeing Mother Ganga. At the same time, you will also get the pleasure of tourism among the beautiful valleys of the Himalayas.
Let us tell you that during the six months of winter, the idol of Mother Ganga stays in Mukhwa village for its winter stay. As per tradition, a day before Akshaya Tritiya, the doli leaves for Gangotri Dham from Mukhwa on foot and after overnight stay in Bhairo Valley, reaches Gangotri the next day. Now everyone’s eyes are fixed on the moment when Mother Ganga will be seated in her abode and the Char Dham Yatra will begin.
Yamunotri bids farewell to Kharsali like a daughter.
Preparations for opening the doors have also started in Kharsali, the winter migration destination of Yamuna Maiya. According to the pilgrimage priests, as per tradition, the procession of Yamunotri will leave for the holy place on the day of Akshaya Tritiya. On this occasion, the scene of Kharsali is as emotional and full of faith as the farewell of a daughter. Local people say that Char Dham Yatra is the main basis of livelihood here. Therefore, everyone wishes for a successful, safe and orderly conduct of the yatra.
Winter priests told that despite the harsh winter and snowfall, the worship of Mother Yamuna continues as per the rituals. At the same time, the pilgrim priests have clarified that the rumors spreading about the shortage of diesel or other fuel in the area are baseless. There is adequate provision of LPG and diesel in the hilly areas, due to which there will be no inconvenience to the passengers and local people.
When will the doors of Badrinath and Kedarnath open?
The doors of Baba Kedarnath Dham, one of the twelve Jyotirlingas of Lord Shiva, will be opened on April 22. One can reach here from Gaurikund on foot or with the help of helicopter. The doors of Badrinath Dham dedicated to Lord Vishnu open last. This year the doors of the holy shrine will be opened on 23rd April.
