Government raises export duty on diesel from Rs 21.5 to Rs 55.5 per litre, hikes ATF duty from Rs 29.5 to Rs 42 per litre, petrol export duty stays at zero

Centre Hikes Special Excise On High-Speed Diesel To Rs 24/Litre
The government has increased export duties on key petroleum products, raising the levy on diesel while also revising charges on aviation fuel. The duty on diesel has been raised from Rs 21.5 per litre to Rs 55.5 per litre.
According to the revised structure, the Special Additional Excise Duty on high-speed diesel has been raised to Rs 24 per litre, while the Road and Infrastructure Cess now stands at Rs 36 per litre.
Similarly, the export duty on Aviation Turbine Fuel (ATF) has been increased from Rs 29.5 per litre to Rs 42 per litre.
However, export duty on petrol remains unchanged at zero. According to a communique issued on Saturday by Finance Ministry, the revised rates are effective immediately.
