The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) is expected to release the notification for the Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) December 2025 soon. Interested and eligible candidates can apply for CTET December 2025 by visiting the official website at ctet.nic.in, once the link is activated.

Last year, the exam was scheduled for December 1, 2024 with the application process taking place from September 17 to October 16. Whereas in 2023, the December session exam application began on November 3, 2023 and the exam was held on January 21, 2024.

CBSE CTET December 2025: Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification: As per the eligibility criteria set by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE), candidates appearing for CTET Paper-1 must have passed 12th grade with at least 50 per cent marks and completed a two-year D.El.Ed / four-year B.El.Ed course. For Paper-2, candidates need a graduation degree with 50 per cent marks and a B.Ed or equivalent degree.

Age Limit: The minimum age to appear for CTET is 18 years, with no upper age limit.

CBSE CTET December 2025: Steps To Apply

Step 1: Visit the official CTET website — ctet.nic.in.

Step 2: Select the “Apply Online” option and fill out the form.

Step 3: Complete the CTET December 2025 online application.

Step 4: Upload scanned copies of your documents, signature, and photograph.

Step 5: Submit the examination fee.

Step 6: Download and print a copy of the confirmation page for your records.

CBSE CTET December 2025: Application Fee

For the CTET exam, General and OBC (non-creamy layer) candidates will need to pay Rs 1000 for one paper and Rs 1200 for both papers. SC, ST, and Divyang candidates will need to pay Rs 500 for one paper and Rs 600 for both papers.

CTET aims to qualify candidates for teaching positions for classes 1 to 5 and 6 to 8. It comprises two papers: one for primary schools (classes 1 to 5) and another for classes 6 to 8. Paper 2 is usually held from 9:30 am to noon and Paper 1 from 2:30 pm to 5 pm. Both papers will feature 150 multiple-choice questions, each worth one mark.
