The issue of exam paper in CBSE 12th examination is in discussion. On scanning the QR code printed on the paper, the YouTube link opens, which is of an English song.

Many videos and screenshots related to this are also viral. In these, when the QR code is being scanned, the link to the YouTube song is opening.

According to many students, the Maths exam was held on March 9. It came with the security code printed on it. When it was scanned, the YouTube link opened and about 40 years old English song ‘Reroll’ started playing.

On this issue, CBSE clarified that the YouTube link is opening on scanning the QR. The exam papers are also real. In this case the security of the exam paper has not been compromised.

Questions raised on exam paper due to viral photos

In fact, right after the exam, screenshots of the claim started going viral on social media. Some students said that when they scanned, links to songs on YouTube were actually opening. While some students were scanning, only simple letter signs like ‘A’ and ‘Q’ were visible.

Due to this, there was confusion as to whether the viral screenshot is limited to a limited number of cases, is a technical mistake or is some fake news viral online. Besides, children and their parents also raised questions on the authenticity of the question paper.

What is security QR code?

It is used for identification and authenticity of any document or question paper. When scanned it usually contains the paper’s set number, serial number or encrypted information. This shows whether the document is genuine or not. There was no tampering of any kind in it.

The board promised to investigate the matter

After the incident, CBSE said that the concerns of students and parents regarding QR codes have been taken seriously. The board made it clear that the authenticity of the question paper is safe and necessary steps are being taken to ensure that such a situation does not happen again in future examinations.
