The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has announced recruitment for 84 posts in CBI. This includes roles such as Assistant Public Prosecutor, Public Prosecutor, and Lecturer. These include 19 posts for Assistant Public Prosecutor, 25 posts for Public Prosecutor, and Lecturer positions as follows: 8 posts in Botany, 8 in Chemistry, 2 in Economics, 3 in History, 1 in Home Science, 6 in Physics, 1 in Psychology, 3 in Sociology, and 8 in Zoology.
There will be no written examination for recruitment in CBI. Selection for these posts will be based solely on an interview. Therefore, focus on enhancing your conversation skills and attend the interview with confidence. The application process has commenced and the last date to apply is September 11.
CBI Recruitment 2025: Eligibility Criteria
Educational Qualification: To apply for these posts, candidates must have a degree in law and post-graduation with B.Ed.
Age Limit: The maximum age to apply is 45 years. However, age relaxation will be provided to SC/ST, OBC, and Divyang candidates as per government rules. If you are below 45, do not miss this opportunity.
“The prescribed essential qualifications are the minimum and the mere possession of the same does not entitle candidates to be called for interview,” states the official notice.
CBI Recruitment 2025: Application Fees
General, OBC, and EWS men need to pay Rs 25. The fee is waived for SC/ST, Divyang, and women candidates.

Step 1 – First, go to the website at upsconline.nic.in.
Step 2 – Click on the ‘Online Recruitment Application’ link on the home page.
Step 3 – Go to ‘Apply Now’ and fill the form for Lecturer or Public Prosecutor.
Step 4 – If you are applying for the first time, click on ‘New Registration’.
Step 5 – Login with the generated credentials.
Step 6 – Fill the form, pay the fees (if applicable), and submit.
Step 7 – Download the confirmation page and keep a printout.
CBI Recruitment 2025: Salary Details
The salary level ranges between 7 to 10, meaning the starting salary for selected candidates can be from Rs 70,000 to Rs 1 lakh depending on experience and allowances.
