Three bike-borne men stole empty LPG cylinders from a former district judge, Vimal Kumar Jain’s house in Bhopal, amid the fear of a nationwide supply shortage of LPG cylinders. The incident took place on March 14 at midnight when the family was asleep.
CCTV footage shows that three men came on a motorcycle to Jain’s house, with one person stopping the motorcycle near the parking area, and two going inside. The two picked up four cylinders in total and got onto the motorcycle. The rider then started the bike and escaped the scene.
Prior to committing the crime, the thieves carried out an inspection, with one person looking inside the house to check whether anyone was awake. As they were convinced that no one was awake, they carried out the theft.
The judge’s family discovered the theft after waking up the next morning. As the family saw that all the cylinders were missing in the parking area, they checked the CCTV footage and stumbled upon the incident. Robin Jain, the son of the ex-district judge and a lawyer, rushed to the police and filed a complaint.
Upon receiving the complaint, the police soon started investigating the case. They checked the CCTV footage to trace the accused. Sketches of the three accused were prepared, and a manhunt is on to apprehend the accused.
