Govt sources clarified that the Vice President’s office remains fully operational and described the rumours as “completely wrong and unfounded”

Amid reports that Jagdeep Dhankhar, who stepped down as Vice President of India, had his office sealed, government sources have strongly denied the claims.
The sources clarified that the Vice President’s office remains fully operational and described the rumours as “completely wrong and unfounded.”
“Any information that is being run, saying that the office of Mr Dhankar has been sealed or shut is completely wrong and unfounded claim,” the sources said.
In fact, key meetings, including that of the Business Advisory Committee, were held as scheduled on the same day. Officials confirmed it was business as usual at the Vice President’s Secretariat.
“The office is completely functional, and in fact, crucial meetings, including business advisory committee has also taken place today,” they added.
Dhankhar had submitted his resignation to President Droupadi Murmu on Monday evening. “To prioritise health care and abide by medical advice, I hereby resign as Vice President of India, effective immediately, in accordance with Article 67(a) of the Constitution,” he wrote in his resignation letter.
Dhankhar, 74, had assumed office in August 2022.
