The Canadian, seeded ninth, is locked in a desperate race to clinch a spot at the ATP Finals in Turin, and every point in Paris carried the weight of his season.

Having breezed through his quarterfinal, Auger-Aliassime came in with confidence, though not without complaints.

Early in the second set, with Bublik leading 2-0, a missed point turned into a full-blown meltdown.

The Kazakh completely lost his cool — slamming his racket repeatedly until it shattered across the hardcourt. Play came to a standstill as fragments littered the baseline.

And then, something unexpected happened.

Instead of ignoring the mess, Auger-Aliassime calmly walked over, grabbed a towel, and began picking up the debris himself.

From across the net, a sheepish Bublik responded with a heart hand gesture, acknowledging the Canadian’s sportsmanship in the middle of chaos.

That calmness translated into his tennis. Auger-Aliassime went on to close out the match 7-6(3), 6-4, sealing his spot in the Paris Masters final, his second career Masters 1000 title match after Madrid 2024.

“I’m so happy. A Masters 1000 final sounds really good,” Auger-Aliassime said afterwards.

“You don’t play those every week. I know what I can do against the best players in the world — today I executed, and I’m proud of that.”
