Bank of India’s (BOI) standalone net profit in the April-June quarter rose 10% year-on-year to ₹1,702 crores. It was ₹1,551 crores in the same quarter last year.

At the same time, the net profit of the bank has also increased by 18.27% on a quarterly basis. In the last quarter (Q4 FY24), the bank’s profit was Rs 1,439 crore. BOI has released the results of Q1FY25 i.e. the first quarter of the financial year 2024-25 on Saturday (3 August).

The total income of the bank increased by 15.28%
In the June quarter, the total income of the bank increased by 15.28% on an annual basis to Rs 18,240 crore, which was Rs 15,821 crore in the same quarter last year. On a quarterly basis, the bank’s income has increased by 1.82%.

Net interest income increased by 6%
BOI’s net interest income (NII) in the June quarter grew 6% year-on-year (YoY) to Rs 6,275 crore. It was Rs 5,915 crore in the same quarter last year.

The amount not recovered becomes NPA
If the loan or advance given by the bank is not returned on time, the bank declares that amount as NPA or non-performing asset. Generally, in case of non-return for 90 days, the bank puts the loan or advance amount in the list of NPA.

What is standalone and consolidated?
The results of companies come in two parts – standalone and consolidated. In standalone, the financial performance of only one unit is shown. Whereas, in consolidated or consolidated financial report, the report of the entire company is given.

BOI shares gave 50% return in one year
A day earlier, on Friday, BOI’s share fell 0.36% and closed at Rs 125.65. With this, the company’s market cap has reached Rs 57.32 thousand crores. In the last six months, the bank’s share has fallen by 9.34%. In one year, the bank’s share has risen by 50.21%.
