Annamalai has finally broken her silence after resigning from the primary membership of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). Annamalai has not only revealed the real reasons for separation from BJP, but has also put forward her big ‘future plan’ for Tamil Nadu politics before the country.

Annamalai has announced that he will now Tamil Nadu We are going to start a new political movement. Revealing the biggest reason for leaving the party, Annamalai said, “I wanted to stay among the people and walk with them. I had a strong desire that BJP should contest every election alone in Tamil Nadu. I had also talked to the then national president JP Nadda about contesting alone in local body and other elections.”

Apart from this, while referring to the ‘Mekedatu Dam controversy’, he said that when DK Shivakumar wanted to build a dam in Karnataka, the BJP government had stopped it, which was a big policy issue.

Talking about the series of meetings, Annamalai said, “I have immense respect for Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Since I did not want any uncomfortable situation or issue to arise in front of him because of me, I met the top leadership.”

Making a big revelation, he said, “This conversation has not started today, but was going on for the last 18 months. I had first expressed my desire to leave the party on December 4, 2025, but I was asked to complete the election work, so I stayed.”

What is Annamalai’s future plan?
Annamalai has made it clear that he is not retiring from politics, but now he will start a big political movement on the ground. He has also announced his new movement ‘Annamalai Makkal Iyakkam – AMI’ on social media (X).

Annamalai tweeted that with the announcement of the movement, he has received many times more response than expected. He wrote, “So far, more than 3,000 volunteers have registered themselves to join Annamalai Makkal Iyakkam (AMI). This trust and enthusiasm of the public is beyond our expectations. Our team will contact each and every volunteer in the coming days. Thank you once again for your support and cooperation.”

After this step of Annamalai, it has become clear that he has started preparing a new and independent ground for himself to compete with the established faces of Dravidian politics (DMK and AIADMK) in Tamil Nadu.

Got offer from Rajnikanth

Annamalai said that he had been struggling for a long time to create a new political path in Tamil Nadu. He claimed that just a day before joining BJP, superstar Rajinikanth had offered him to join his organization. However, he criticized senior BJP leader B.L. To keep the promise made to Santosh, he rejected that offer. He said, “I later met Rajinikanth ji and apologized to him. While being in BJP in the last six years, I never compromised with the identity and interests of Tamil Nadu.”

Annamalai also targeted nepotism and permanent political dominance. He said that politics is not the domain of any one family and there will be time limits for posts in his organization. Appealing to the supporters to be patient, he said that a strong foundation of the organization is being prepared. When the right time comes, it will be converted into a formal political party. Annamalai said that his movement will field a large number of new faces in the local body elections and will lay special emphasis on connecting the new generation with politics.
