India’s largest political party BJP is celebrating its 47th foundation day today in 2026. Many programs are being organized in BJP offices across the country regarding the Foundation Day. In Uttar Pradesh, CM Yogi Aditya Nath took a selfie with the party flag. Bhoomipujan of 17 new offices is being performed in Madhya Pradesh today.
Congratulating the workers in a post on X, PM Modi wrote – BJP is committed to creating a developed India. Our collective resolve to continue to carry this vision forward and take India to new heights of progress and prosperity.
Amit Shah wrote- The basic mantra of BJP has always been clear, National First, Party Next, Self Last. With this basic feeling, every BJP worker is dedicated to serving the nation day and night.
BJP was established on 6 April 1980. But its foundation was laid during the Bharatiya Jana Sangh formed in 1951. It was founded by Shyama Prasad Mukherjee and Deendayal Upadhyay.
After the Emergency in 1975–77, many parties including Jan Sangh joined the Janata Party, but due to differences they separated in 1980. After this BJP was formed.
Since its inception, BJP has had two Prime Ministers – Narendra Modi and Atal Bihari Vajpayee. In the 1996, 1998 and 1999 Lok Sabha elections, the party emerged as the largest party. In the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, the party won 303 seats, the highest in the party’s history.

The main event of Foundation Day is being held in Bhopal, Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav, BJP State President Hemant Khandelwal will join the programs of all the districts virtually from here. Bhoomipujan of BJP district offices will be held in 17 districts of the state. Land has already been purchased in these districts. Rajasthan: CM Bhajanlal said – we have to make the party invincible
CM Bhajanlal Sharma hoisted the party flag at the state BJP office and his personal residence. During this, he appealed to the workers and said that our aim is to make the party invincible. On the foundation day, CM Bhajan Lal got a new room in the party office. Room No. 5 in the office will be reserved for the Chief Minister from now on.
