BITS Design School (BITSDES), a part of BITS Pilani has opened admissions for its third batch of the four-year Bachelor of Design (Honours) programme for the 2026–30 session.

BITS Design School (BITSDES), part of BITS Pilani, has started the admission process for its third batch of the four-year, fully residential Bachelor of Design (Honours) programme. Applications for the 2026–30 academic session are now open and will close on February 1, 2026.
A total of 180 seats are available this year. Students can apply using their scores from NID Design Aptitude Test (DAT) Prelims, UCEED, or the BITS Design Aptitude Test (BITSDAT). Those applying through NID-DAT or UCEED must submit their applications by February 1, 2026, along with their roll numbers.
The BITSDAT, a one-hour online test, will be held from March 31 to April 5, 2026. Only candidates who apply by the deadline will be allowed to upload their exam scores between April 8 and April 12, 2026.
The list of shortlisted candidates will be released on April 16, 2026. Portfolio submissions will take place from April 16 to April 20, followed by online interviews from May 2 to May 12, 2026. The final results will be declared on May 18, 2026. All dates are subject to change.
The BITS Design School programme attracts students from diverse academic backgrounds, including Science, Arts, and Commerce streams under CBSE, ISC, State Boards, IB, and IGCSE.
Students can choose specialisations such as Physical Product Design, Digital Product Design (UI/UX), Design Research & Insights, Experience Design, and Visual Design. The course combines design, business strategy, policy, and emerging technologies to prepare students for modern industry needs.
Speaking about the programme, Nandita Abraham, Dean of BITS Design School, said, “Design is becoming central to how businesses grow, policies evolve, and societies move forward. Our curriculum prepares students to be creative, industry-ready professionals who can drive innovation, sustainability, and real-world impact.”

To give students global exposure, BITS Design School has partnered with international universities such as Aalto University (Finland), RMIT University (Australia), Arizona State University (USA), and the Cumulus Association of Design Universities. These collaborations include student and faculty exchanges, joint research, and curriculum development.
