Before Kyunki 2, Bill Gates had a digital cameo debut in Bollywood. Guess the film

Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates is making news for his upcoming special appearance in ‘Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi 2’. He will join the cast through a video call. However, this isn’t Gates’s first foray into an Ekta Kapoor production.

The tech giant previously featured in the 2017 film ‘Half Girlfriend’. In that film, Gates was shown arriving at a school in Bihar as the chief guest during an emotional speech by Arjun Kapoor’s character, Madhav.

Unlike the TV cameo, Gates did not actually film the scene; his face was digitally superimposed onto a body double, drawing both criticism and online jokes about the special effects.

A recent promo confirmed Bill Gates’s appearance alongside Smriti Irani’s character, Tulsi. The promo shows Gates joining a video callmarking a notable moment for the series as Gates interacts from America with the fictional Virani family in India.

The promo’s caption reads, “This time, amidst the story of #KyunkiSaasBhiKabhiBahuThi, a new relationship is emerging – of health, of compassion, and of change… Bill Gates, with a thought: May every mother and every child live. safety and health. (This time, a new relationship is being formed in the story of health, empathy, and change. A snippet from the video shows Gates greeting Tulsi with, “Jai Shri Krishna.” Tulsi responds, “It felt very good to know that you are directly related to my family, right from America. We all are eagerly waiting for you (It feels wonderful to know that you are connecting directly with my family all the way from America. We are all eagerly waiting for you.) Gates replies, “Thank you Tulsi ji.”

Smriti, who plays Tulsi, earlier called Gates’s participation a historic moment for Indian entertainment. In an interview with CNBC-TV18she noted that women and children’s health has long remained on the margins of mainstream dialogue. Irani described the initiative as a powerful step toward changing that.

While the cameo in ‘Half Girlfriend’ was entirely digital, Gates’s involvement in ‘Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi 2’ is a direct, interactive exchange.
