Several districts of Assam will observe a local holiday today, October 21. Find out if your district is on the list
Diwali, the Festival of Lights, was celebrated across the country on October 20 and will continue to be celebrated on October 21 in many parts of India. Several district administrations in the state of Assam took significant decisions to mark the occasion.

The state government had declared October 20 as a public holiday in observance of Diwali, while various district administrations have also announced October 21 as a local holiday.

The districts of South Salmaramara, Mankachar, Kokrajhar, and Golimil.

Government employees in Kamrup (Metropolitan), Hojai, Bajali, and Dibrugarh districts will also observe a local holiday on Tuesday.

On the occasion of Diwali, all revenue and magistrates’ courts, along with financial institutions, including educational institutions, banks, insurance companies, and cooperatives, in these districts will remain closed on Tuesday.
