An Army jawan has been arrested for allegedly killing a 17-year-old girl and burying her body in a secluded place in a village in Uttar Pradesh’s Prayagraj.
Police said that the girl was kidnapped on November 10 from Cantt police station area.
DCP (Ganga Nagar) Kuldeep Gunawat said the body of the teenager was found on November 15 in an orchard near Lakharawa village under Tharwai police station area. She was staying at her uncle’s house in the Cantt area to pursue her studies.
PTI quoted the police as saying that a bag recovered from the spot contained a book with a name and phone number, which helped the police trace the suspect.
