Amul has increased the prices of milk by Rs 2 per liter on Wednesday. The new prices will be applicable from Thursday. According to Gujarat Cooperative Milk Marketing Federation, prices have been increased on major variants and packs of Amul milk.
The company says that this increase is between 2.5% to 3.5%. Milk prices have been increased for the first time after May 2025. This decision was taken due to increasing costs of animal feed, packaging and fuel.

According to Gujarat Co-operative Milk Marketing Federation (GCMMF), this decision has been taken due to increase in input costs. Amul has changed the prices of Gold, Taja, Buffalo Milk, Cow Milk, Slim & Trim, Shakti and Tea Special Packs.
According to the co-operative, the reason for increasing prices is the continuous increase in milk production and operational expenses. Due to rising price of animal feed and transportation cost, milk prices have to be changed from time to time. In the last few years, the pressure of input costs on the dairy industry has increased considerably.
Impact on the budget: This increase in milk prices will have a direct impact on the pockets of the general public. Managing the kitchen budget may now become more challenging for families already facing the brunt of inflation.
