Earlier on May 15, the Aviation Security Regulator BCAS canceled the security approval of the Turki company Selebi Airport Services India Private Limited.
Air India has finished the contract with Turkish Technique, a company that maintains its Boeing 777 aircraft. This decision has been taken after the Turkas supported Pakistan.
The company’s CEO and MD Campbell Wilson told NDTV, “If there is difficulty in continuing business in the current situation, we will find an option.” We want to respect public feelings.
CEO reported that some aircraft have already been sent for maintenance in Türkiye. Options like AIESL, Abu Dhabi and Singapore are now being seen for servicing the remaining aircraft.
In fact, Pakistan attacked India after Operation Sindoor, in which Turkish drones were used. Since then, the government has been taking a tough stand against the Turkish companies.
IndiGo will also end agreement
Earlier, Director General of Civil Aviation i.e. DGCA said on 30 May (Friday) that lease duoration with Indigo’s Turkish Airlines is being extended for just three months. After this it will not be extended.
At the same time, DGCA has also asked IndiGo to end the lease agreement with Turkish Airlines. The government was also appealed to a ban on the aircraft leasing deal with Indigo’s Turkish Airlines.

The company will follow all government rules: CEO
Earlier, IndiGo’s CEO Peter Albers said on Friday that the company would follow all government rules related to weight leasing, as the airline is operating the wet-leased aircraft of Turkish Airlines.
Under the weight leasing system, the airline giving aircraft handles the responsibilities like crew, maintenance and insurance. Albers assured that Indigo would make alternative arrangements giving priority to passengers.
On 15 May, the security approval of the Turkay company Celebi was canceled
On May 15, Aviation Security Regulator BCAS canceled the security approval of the Turki company Celebi Airport Services India Private Limited “in the interest of national security.
The step was taken by Türkiye a few days after Turkey supported Pakistan and condemned India’s attacks on terrorist camps in the neighboring country.
