Bunty Jahagirdar was shot dead while he was in Shrirampur to attend a funeral.

Aslam Shabbir Sheikh, also known as Bunty Jahagirdar, an accused in the 2012 Pune bomb blast case, was shot dead by unidentified assailants in Maharashtra’s Shrirampur on Wednesday.
The motive behind the killing is not yet known.
Bunty Jahagirdar was shot dead while he was in Shrirampur to attend a funeral. he was attacked when he was returning from the cemetery, near the main gate of German Hospital.
The two attackers opened fire at close range and fled the spot immediately after the shooting.
He was immediately rushed to a hospital, where he succumbed to injuries, said Ahilyanagar Superintendent of Police Somnath Gharge. “The motive behind the attack is yet to be ascertained. Multiple teams have been formed to probe the case, and the investigation is on,” Gharge was quoted as saying by news agency PTI.
Jahagirdar was arrested by the Maharashtra Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) for his alleged involvement in the Jangli Maharaj Road serial blasts case. The four coordinated low-intensity explosions had rocked Pune on August 1, 2012.
Multiple criminal cases have been registered against Jahagirdar in Ahilyanagar district, including murder, bodily offences and criminal intimidation.
He was out on bail since 2023 in the bomb blasts case.
