He informed that Urban Elevated Dwarka Expressway is the first 8 -lane expressway in the country, which has been built from Gurugram to Delhi Airport. It has been prepared at a cost of about 9 thousand crores rupees. The distance from Delhi to Gurugram will be completed in about 20 minutes from this expressway. Apart from this, 8 districts of Haryana will benefit.
Apart from this, UR-2 is the third ring road in Delhi, built at a cost of Rs 7 thousand 716 crore, which will provide connectivity to Delhi-Mumbai Expressway. Not only this, the 17 km expansion will also be connected to the Delhi-Dehradun Expressway. Dwarka Expressway: Built in two phases from Gurugram to Delhi
- Gurugram part was opened last year: The National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) has built the Dwarka Expressway from Mahipalpur (Shiva Murti) in Delhi under the Bharat Mala Project to Khoki Daula toll in Gurugram. Its total length is 29 kilometers and its width is about 34 meters. Most of which (18.9 km) is in Haryana and the rest (10.1 km) in Delhi. The share of Gurugram was opened last year. Now the Prime Minister will duly inaugurate the share from Gurugram to Delhi.
- World’s strongest expressway: Two lakh metric tonnes of steel and 20 lakh cubic meters cement have been used on Dwarka Expressway. This is the reason why it is considered to be the strongest and best expressway in the world. A total of 9 thousand crore rupees have been spent to prepare it. This project was started in 2018. It was to be prepared by the year 2021. However, due to Kovid, it was delayed by about four years.
- The country’s widest tunnel: The country’s widest 3.6 km tunnel has been built on the Dwarka Expressway. To keep the traffic smooth in the expressway, 4-level (four-level) and 3-level (three-level) interchange have been created at 4 places at 4 places. Apart from this, many flyovers and underpasses have also been built. There is also an intelligent transport system on this expressway, which will provide safe and better travel.
- Airport tunnel most special on Dwarka Expressway: Its biggest feature is 3.6 km long and 8 -lane width urban tunnel, which connects Dwarka and Yashobhoomi directly to the IGI airport. This tunnel will enable passengers to reach the airport without any hindrance. Modern facilities such as CCTV cameras, control rooms, and emergency exit (emergency exit) have been arranged in the tunnel. However, tankers carrying vehicles, two -wheelers, three -wheelers, and flammable substances will not be allowed to enter it due to security reasons.
- Work on new tunnel from Gurugram to Delhi: A 5 km long twin-tube tunnel is also being built on Dwarka Expressway from Gurugram to Nelson Mandela Marg of Vasant Kunj in Delhi. The tunnel will play an important role in reducing traffic congestion in Southwest Delhi and will make the IGI airport accessible further.

Urban Extension Road-2 (UER-2): Delhi-Panipat highway will connect Dwarka Sector-24
- Benefits of direct connectivity from Delhi-Mumbai Expressway: It is being considered as the third ring road of Delhi. This 76 km long road has been built at a cost of Rs 7 thousand 716 crore. It starts from Alipur Point of Delhi-Panipat National Highway 44 to Nangloi, Najafgarh Road, and Dwarka Sector-24. This road has been constructed to provide direct connection to Delhi-Mumbai Expressway, which will reduce traffic pressure in the internal areas of Delhi and Gurugram.
- UER-2 will expand to Delhi-Dehradun Expressway: Another important part of Uer-2 is its expansion, which will connect it to the Delhi-Dehradun Expressway. This expansion, about 17 km long, will be built at a cost of Rs 3 thousand 350 crore and it is expected to be completed by 2026. It will provide a new and fast route for vehicles going from Haryana and Rajasthan to Dehradun.
